Robben Island has come to symbolise, not just for African country, or maybe the African continent, but also the whole world, the resilience and also the eventual triumph of humanity over enormous hardship and adversity. The Island represents an area of trauma and suffering by many, and in and of itself it's a catalyst for healing.

Few places within the world hold the status of Robben Island. Though the island, visible from the mainland CBD, was both whaling station and leper colony and is best known for its period as a political prison. The island itself is without question a sombre destination, however the scenic beauty and objective behind preserving the island is one of utmost importance.

Legacy is the total extent of our acquired conventions, landmarks, objects, and culture. But most importantly, it is the extent of modern exercises, implications, and behaviors that we draw or learn from them.
